His journey began as a consultant at AIG Worldwide – International Gemological Laboratories, where he honed his skills and developed a deep passion for gemology. Since 2007, he has led an impressive 26 international laboratory expertise and 104 successful field expeditions to colored gemstone producing areas in Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, and America.
Throughout his extensive travels, Liam has had the privilege of working with some of the world’s most coveted gemstones, including rubies, sapphires, spinels, garnets, and emeralds. His expertise in gemology is complemented by his background in Industrial Engineering, which he studied in England, and gemology, which he pursued at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in the United States.
Liam’s professional journey has taken him to various esteemed organizations, including the AIGS Lab in Bangkok, where he served as the lead gemologist, and the Gubelin Gem Lab, where he worked as an assistant laboratory scientist. He also held the position of senior supervisor for field gemology at GIA. In 2017, Liam decided to venture out as a private international laboratory gemologist, offering his expertise to various private firms on a contract basis.
